SWANK.....  bringing you the coolest stuff in town since 1998!

SWANK! opened in october 1998 on pittsburgh's southside.  i wanted SWANK! to be different than your typical "punk rock store", you know, all those stores in all those cities that have the exact same gothy/fetish selection.......  well i wanted to be one giant serving of cool old school punk rock gear, with a side dish of tattoo flash inspired clothing & accessories.  then add a dash of hot rod//kustom kulture......  and serve it all up hot-n-greasy on retro 50's dinnerwear (franciscan starburst of course; dontcha know presentation is everything!)

SWANK! was founded on the concept of quality merchandise, good taste, and cool factor.......  where the cool folks in pittsburgh get their cool!!  we wanted to be the place you could swing into on the very afternoon of someone's birthday, confident that you can find the purrrfect gift here!!  over the past 5 years i've realized that sadly an awful lot of people are content to buy cheap crap from cheap crappy mall stores.......... but even though our retail store has closed, i plan to keep SWANKGEAR.COM going online, with local pick-ups at the warehouse by appointment only..... for those who still want the real deal and not the cheap knockoffs you find at lame-ass hot topic.  and i know that still makes sense to some folks!
